Ruth Franklin is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Stem Cell and Regenerative Biology at Harvard University and Department of Immunology at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Franklin received her Ph.D. in Immunology and Microbial Pathogenesis from Weill Cornell Graduate School of Medical Sciences. Her thesis work defined the lineage and function of tumor-associated macrophages in breast cancer development. She then completed her postdoctoral training at Yale University School of Medicine as a Cancer Research Institute Irvington Fellow, where she uncovered a reciprocal growth factor circuit between macrophages and fibroblasts. Dr. Franklin started her lab in 2020 and is currently focused on understanding how cells of the innate immune system regulate inflammatory responses and promote tissue remodeling and repair following infection.
