Dr. Saxton is an Assistant Professor of Immunology and Molecular Medicine at the University of California, Berkeley. He received his BA in Molecular and Cell Biology from UC Berkeley in 2013, and went on to complete a PhD at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 2018, studying mechanisms of nutrient sensing by the mTOR signaling pathway under the supervision of Dr. David Sabatini and Dr. Thomas Schwartz.

Following his PhD, Dr. Saxton was awarded a Helen Hay Whitney Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowship and conducted research in the lab of Dr. Chris Garcia at Stanford University. There, he applied structure-based protein engineering techniques to investigate mechanisms cytokine receptor signaling.

In 2022, Dr. Saxton established the Saxton Lab at UC Berkeley, which focuses on understanding the role of cytokines in mediating immune-epithelial crosstalk in the context of tissue inflammation and repair.

Oral Presentation at Cytokines 2023 in Athens, Greece:
