Amir Shamshirian is a PhD candidate in Immunology at The University of Queensland, studying at the Immunopathology Laboratory of QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute in Brisbane, Australia, under the supervision of Dr. Kate Gartlan. He has gained valuable experience in various research areas within laboratory medicine, focusing on cancer research during his undergraduate studies and as a research assistant at the Mazandaran University of Medical Sciences in Iran. Currently, his research is dedicated to investigating the role of cytokine interactions and transcription factors in the prevention and treatment of Graft-versus-Host Disease (GVHD), a severe complication following stem cell transplantation.
