The Cytokine Society is driven by the expertise and dedication of its members. Our committees are where much of that work happens — from shaping the annual conference to advancing community, supporting early-career researchers, and stewarding the society’s long-term health.
We encourage members at all career stages to get involved. If you are interested in serving on a committee or would like more information, please contact Managing Director Stephanie Flores at [email protected] or a current Councilor or Committee Member.
Nominations Committee
The Nominations Committee manages the society’s election process. Six members, elected by the membership, are responsible for identifying candidates for officer and Council positions, soliciting nominations broadly from the membership, confirming candidates’ willingness to serve, and submitting a final slate to the Council. Awards Committee
The Awards Committee oversees the society’s awards program. This includes establishing nomination procedures, evaluating candidates, and selecting recipients across the society’s suite of honors — from career achievement awards to travel grants for trainees.
Early Career Researchers (ECR) Committee
The ECR Committee was established to support trainees and junior faculty by creating opportunities for networking, mentorship, and professional development within the cytokine and interferon research community. The committee’s signature activity is the ECR Networking Reception held each year at the Cytokines annual conference. Looking ahead, the committee is actively developing additional programming to support members throughout the year — including mentorship initiatives and career development resources.
Scientific Meetings Committee
The Scientific Meetings Committee develops the program for the Annual Scientific Meeting, including session topics, invited contributors, and abstract selection. The committee is also responsible for recommending future meeting locations and co-chairs, ensuring continuity and scientific excellence across years.
Signals+ Editorial Board
Signals+ is the society’s member newsletter. The Editorial Board guides the publication’s content and direction, helping ensure it reflects the breadth and depth of the cytokine and interferon research community.
