The annual meeting is a key event for the International Cytokine and Interferon Society because it has the ambition to attract all basic and clinical scientists from academia and industry with interests in cytokine, interferon and their related research fields.

The objectives of the annual meeting are as follows:

  • Provide an environment for presentation of cutting-edge research in cytokine, interferon and a multitude of other related research disciplines.
  • Enable professional networking opportunities for exchange of ideas, materials and methods, employment opportunities, and other interests with the aim of establishing collaborations on cytokine and interferon
  • Encourage interactions between senior and junior scientists from around the globe.
  • Stimulate interactions between researchers from academic and commercial institutions.

To achieve these aims the annual meeting will include Plenary Sessions with distinguished speakers, Workshop Sessions dedicated to specific topics including key speakers and communications selected from abstracts, and poster sessions on submitted Abstracts. The meeting will also include activities to encourage career development and networking. The organizers need also to balance the content of the meeting to include sessions dedicated to both cytokine and interferon biology. They shall also pay attention in selecting invited speakers the gender and age balance as well as international distribution of the speakers.

Past Meetings of the International Cytokine & Interferon Society, International Cytokine Society & the International Society of Interferon and Cytokine Research

What some attendees had to say about Cytokines 2016 in San Francisco:

The science presented was really good. The networking opportunities for trainees were excellent

Prominence of emerging research areas such as effect of metabolism in immunity and barrier surface immunity was very tangible throughout the meeting.

Opportunity for my PhD students to present their work and experience feedback from a critical audience.
